Review: Champions Camp 2025 in Waltershausen – An International Sporting Highlight!

From 23 to 27 July, Waltershausen became the meeting place for karate enthusiasts from around the world. At the Champions Camp 2025, around 150 participants plus VIPs from 18 countries trained together – and all at a truly top level. Five days full of power, technique, motivation, and a great sense of team spirit!

World-class stars up close

A true highlight were the special guests Dionysios Xenos and his brother, world champion Stefanos Xenos. Not only did they inspire the crowd, but they also brought a wealth of knowledge and practical input to the training sessions. Together with camp organisers Noah Bitsch and Christian Grüner, Dionysios led intensive sessions, while Florian Haas enthusiastically looked after the U12 group.

Training with the best

The camp hosted the elite of international martial arts. Among them: Mia Bitsch and Stefanos Xenos, currently preparing for the World Games. Also present were Shara Hubrich, Florian Haas, and European Champion Hannah Riedl – all actively training alongside the participants. You couldn't get any closer!

Europe’s top kumite camp?

What took place in Waltershausen was more than just a training camp. The Champions Camp has already made a name for itself – perhaps even as Europe’s best kumite camp. It was high-energy, professional, and yet had a warm, family atmosphere. That’s exactly what gives this camp its special spirit.

Things ran smoothly off the mats as well: the coaches were fully equipped – thanks to Punok and Century, who were also present with a small stand. And for those in need of a quick recharge, there was delicious street food – ideal after a tough training session.

Honoured guests & personal insights

We were especially delighted by the visit of the State Secretary for Sport and Volunteering and the Mayor of Waltershausen. Both offered warm words for the camp, thanked the organisers, and wished the athletes great success at the upcoming World Games.

A real highlight was the Q&A session with Dionysios and Stefanos, where the kids and young people had the chance to ask their personal questions – directly to two world-class athletes.

Already in the calendar: Winter Camp 2025!

Hardly is the summer camp over, and the next date is already set: the Champions Camp – Winter Edition will take place from 27 to 30 December 2025 in Staßfurt – a fantastic way to round off the year for everyone looking to push their limits once more.

Noah Bitsch, the organiser, summed it up:
