WAKO Kickboxing Highlights from the World Games
From August 7 to 17, 2025, the international sports world turned its eyes to Chengdu, China, where the World Games were held. Among the sports on the program was Kickboxing, officially represented by WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations). At the Sichuan Provincial Gymnasium, the world’s best fighters faced off and delivered thrilling bouts at the highest level.
Success for CENTURY Europe
The athletes supported by CENTURY Europe secured several medals in Chengdu:

Background: WAKO at the World Games
Since 2014, WAKO has been an official member federation of the IWGA (International World Games Association), which organizes the World Games.
At the 2025 Games in Chengdu, both kickboxing formats – Point Fighting and K-1 Style – were included in the program for the first time. This firmly establishes kickboxing within the international multi-sport event and continues to increase its global significance.
The equipment from CENTURY Martial Arts is WAKO approved and designed for use in competition – even at the highest level. With this label, the protective gear is certified and authorized for future tournaments. The World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) is the globally recognized governing body for kickboxing and is supported by the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF). WAKO has more than 4 million members across 129 countries and organizes the Kickboxing World Championships every two years.
