Safety First: The New PUNOK Youth Head Guard with Face Protection and the Latest WKF Rule Update
In the world of Kumite Karate, the safety of young athletes always comes first. With the latest rule update from the World Karate Federation (WKF), this priority is once again emphasised: from now on, competitions and training sessions for karateka under the age of 14 must include not only body protectors but also specific head and face protection elements.
We’re excited to introduce the PUNOK Youth Head Guard with integrated face protection – a product perfectly tailored to these new requirements and officially approved by the WKF.
Why this head guard?
The PUNOK Youth Head Guard was specially developed for young karateka who need maximum protection during training and competitions. The face shield is securely fixed to the helmet (non-removable), providing extra stability and safety. Parents and coaches can rest assured that their athletes are optimally protected in every situation – whether in daily training or at demanding tournaments.
The new WKF rule – and what it means
The recent update to the WKF rules clearly states that the use of protective equipment – especially head and face guards for children – is mandatory. This rule change highlights how important it is to comprehensively protect young athletes from the very beginning and to prevent serious injuries. Our PUNOK Head Guard fully meets these requirements and is officially WKF-certified.
Quality you can trust
As part of the Century Martial Arts family, PUNOK stands for top quality, precision, and durability. The youth head guard not only fits perfectly, but is also made of hard-wearing materials that withstand the demands of daily training.
With the new PUNOK Head Guard, you are perfectly equipped – for more safety, more confidence, and peace of mind when it comes to protecting our young karateka.
