She was the first woman ever in the history of "MMA-OKTAGON" to win the strawweight title (up to 52.2 kilograms) back in September last year. Now Katharina Dalisda also took her second big chance at this top level and defended her title in Oberhausen. At the 53rd edition of the mixed martial arts event on Saturday, the Frankfurt native defeated France's Eva Dourthe in a high-quality main bout in the up to 52.5 kilogram class in the Rudolf Weber Arena. Katharina is extremely ambitious and an absolute perfectionist. She said after the fight: "There's always room for improvement, but in the end only victory counts in a title fight like this. It wasn't one of my best performances - but I flipped the switch at the moment when it was most needed. I would like to thank the MMA Spirit team, led by Niels Schlaegel and Daniel Weichel, for their professional preparation and support along the way." Like cage superstar Christian Eckerlin (36), Dalisda trains at the renowned "MMA Spirit" in Frankfurt. "Here I have the best conditions to focus on such ambitious fights and get into fighting shape."

A total of eleven fights were held at the MMA-OKTAGON, eight of them with German participation. In addition to Dalisda, Islam Dulatov, who had not been defeated in nine fights, also took part in the European event series for the first time. Seven other fighters from Germany were also on the fight card. Katharina Dalisda, who comes from Fürstenfeldbruck, was already one of the biggest judo talents in Germany in her youth before she decided to take up MMA. Her parents Doris and Uwe Dalisda have been following her career from the very beginning. One thing was very important to Katharina after her title defense: "A big thank you to my sponsor CENTURY Martial Arts Europe and their Managing Director Markus Liedtke for the great support and the top gloves for my competition."
