WAKO European Championships 2024 – Battle for Glory, Honor, and Qualification for the World Games!
WAKO European Championships 2024 – Fight for Glory, Honor, and World Games Qualification!
This year's WAKO European Championships for adults were a true spectacle, captivating the martial arts world. Athletes and teams from 41 countries gathered at the prestigious Olympic Stadium in Athens to crown the best martial artists in Europe. A total of 1,133 registrations across various disciplines came in, and the impressive stadium provided a fitting backdrop for the exciting fights and the presentation of new trends and talents in kickboxing.
A special highlight this year was the introduction of the new discipline of Para-Kickboxing, presented by the Spanish Para-National Team. The WAKO organization has set the ambitious goal of permanently establishing Para-Kickboxing in all European and World Championships. Our company, CENTURY Martial Arts, was proud to support this pioneering effort and equip the Para-athletes with high-quality clothing and gear. The success of this pilot project could open new doors for inclusion in martial arts and highlights how kickboxing as a sport is increasingly gaining diversity and accessibility.

This year's European Championship had another significant dimension: in addition to the prestige of winning a European medal, many athletes also competed for qualification for the 2026 Olympic World Games in China. In Pointfighting and K1, participants fought not only for medals but for the limited spots at this global event. Athletes competed in weight classes such as Pointfighting Women: 50kg, 60kg, 70kg – Pointfighting Men: 63kg, 74kg, 84kg – K1 Women: 52kg, 60kg, 70kg – and K1 Men: 63.5kg, 75kg, +91kg. The top four in each category secured the coveted spots for the World Games. Among the successful qualifiers, we are especially proud that several of our sponsored athletes reached the podium, including:
- Carvin Burke (Netherlands, -74kg) – 3rd place
- Evelyn Neyens (UK, -60kg) – 3rd place
- Alexandra Georgieva (Bulgaria, -60kg) – 2nd place
- Tina Baloh (Slovenia, -70kg) – 3rd place
These impressive performances demonstrate the hard work, discipline, and passion behind the athletes' success. They have all proven that they are among the best in their discipline and have earned the chance to participate in the Olympic World Games. We are proud to say that our products – from protective gear to training equipment – have helped support the athletes in their challenges, ensuring they are safely and well-equipped.
The WAKO Senior European Championships 2024 were not only a sporting highlight but also a symbol of growing inclusion and internationality in martial arts. We eagerly look forward to the upcoming competitions and are excited to continue supporting the development and growth of kickboxing.
